2022 Annual Meeting

The Tri-Area Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, October 15th, in Portales. The annual meeting will feature three different gatherings: one for kids, one for students and the main gathering for everyone else. Childcare for little ones and translation for Spanish speakers will be available.

We are asking churches to let us know by Thursday, October 13th which gatherings they plan on participating in and an estimated number they are bringing to participate by completing the registration form on our Tri-Area website. You may go there by clicking HERE.

Below is some detailed information on each of the three gatherings for our annual meeting.

In partnership with our state convention, Tri-Area will have as our special guest for our Kids On Mission Gathering, Kolby King of Thirty-Three Ministries. Kolby uses creative tools to share God’s Word such as illusions, ventriloquism, fire-eating and other stunts along with Biblical teaching to visually illustrate God’s truth. He has been featured in previous Young Lives Ablaze events put on by the BCNM and at both Inlow and Sivells children's camps.

The Kids On Mission Gathering is for kids from kindergarten through 6th grade and will start at 3:45 p.m. and will meet in Calvary Portales' Fellowship Hall. Refreshments (ice cream) will be served to the kids toward the end of the event around 4:45, with things concluding at 5 p.m. Churches are encouraged to take advantage of this special event to bring groups of kids to learn about living life on mission for Jesus and celebrate the Good News!

The Students On Mission Gathering is designed to bless the youth groups of our churches. The Students On Mission Gathering will take place on the same date and time as our annual meeting - 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 15th. Pizza will be served to students and sponsors toward the end of the event at around 4:45 p.m. Any parents or siblings who want to join the students for pizza after the Kids On Mission and Together On Mission Gatherings are concluded are welcome.

Sam Swann

This event will be hosted by University Baptist Church in Portales. Sam Swann with the BCNM, will be the guest speaker, and the  band from the BSU Christian Challenge at ENMU will lead the worship. Tri-Area churches are encouraged to bring a group of youth to this special gathering to learn about living life on mission for God and to celebrate the Good News of Jesus!

The "Together on Mission Gathering" will be hosted this year by Calvary Baptist Church in Portales. This is the main session for our annual meeting, and everyone who isn't involved or have responsibilities related to the Kids On Mission or Students On Mission Gatherings are encouraged to attend.

Tar Henderson

We will take care of a little business, and then will be led in a time of singing praises to our God by Marshall Thrasher from Central Baptist in Clovis. After a time of singing together, Tar Henderson from our state convention will speak to us about church revitalization. At 3:45 p.m. displays will be open for folks to visit with representatives of various ministries that partner with Tri-Area, and then the program will start at 4 p.m. and conclude at 5 p.m.
