DNOW 2022 Info

The theme for the 2022 Disciple Now is "Render," based on Romans 12:1-2:

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

The emphasis of the weekend will be on being transformed by the renewing of the mind.

The speaker this year will be Lance Shumake. He is the founder of iGo Global, a youth missions organization, based in Rockwall, Texas. You can check it out by clicking HERE. You can watch a short video of him making a presentation below.

Music for the weekend will be provided by the Worship4Life Youth Band.

The place for the DNOW this year will be at the New Mexico Baptist Children's Home in Portales. Church groups are welcome to participate for any part or all of the weekend. So, for example, if a group wants to attend on Saturday only, that will be fine.

Each student participating will pay $40. No matter whether a student participates for the whole weekend or just a part of the weekend, in exchange for the $40 fee, they will receive a t-shirt, lanyard, and other items.

Sponsors participate at no cost and will receive a free t-shirt.

As part of Disciple Now, youth groups will be given opportunity to participate in a servant outreach project on Saturday afternoon. This year, the students will collect food items for the Calvary Cares Food Ministry of Calvary Baptist in Portales.

There will be three ways for students to participate in this Mission Service Project. Youth can help collect food by going door-to-door in the community. They will also be able to collect food donations at either the local WalMart or Farmer's Market. A third option will be to participate in a "car wash for cans" to be held in the parking lot of First Baptist Church in Portales. Every person who makes a donation will receive a thank you card with a presentation of the gospel.

Churches are asked to register and pay the $40 per student by Wednesday, March 2nd. Make your check for the student fees out to Tri-Area Baptist Association and put DNOW in the memo line. Mail your check for the student fees to: Tri-Area Baptist Association 1100 W Mañana Blvd., Clovis, NM 88101.
