The Tri-Area Young Lives Ablaze will be held on Saturday, April 20th, at Parkland Baptist Church in Clovis. In the past, the resources, including t-shirts for the kids, were provided by the state convention. But this year, the BCNM will be discontinue providing the resources for YLA, so Tri-Area will have to cover the expenses. Consequently, it was decided in a recent planning meeting that because we do not want to discourage any child from participating, rather than charging a fee, Tri-Area will request a church contribute a suggested donation of $10 per child to help offset expenses for the event.
Young Lives Ablaze will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. The theme for this year's Young Lives Ablaze will be "Jesus is my BFF" (John 15:13). Wayne Boydstun, pastor of Parkland Baptist will serve as this year's preacher, Beau and Melissa Lamb will be in charge of object lesson activities, Amanda Kenyon will oversee the Bible study time, Cody Bilbrey will lead the worship time, and T.J. Cathey and Cheston Fair have been asked to lead the recreation time. Young Lives Ablaze is for all children from 3rd grade through 6th grade.
Participating groups need to register by Monday, April 1st so we might know t-shirt sizes to order and how much pizza we will need for lunch on the 20th. Any donations should be send to Tri-Area by Wednesday, April 17th.
