The annual meeting for Tri-Area Baptist Association will be Saturday, October 14th, at Central Baptist in Clovis. Again, this year’s meeting will feature three gatherings: one for kids, one for youth, and one for adults. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and each program will begin at 4 p.m. and conclude at 5 p.m.

Below is a brief description of each gathering.
Gatherings for Kids
We will have childcare for little ones. Also, we will have a new feature, The Little Kids on Mission Gathering for kids k through 2nd grade. This will be led by Dawn Kirk, who leads the Children’s Church program for Central. They will have fun learning about mission work in the country of Zambia. There will be games, crafts, fun activities, and they will hear from Joselyn Naranjo, who actually went to Zambia on a mission trip!
The Kids on Mission Gathering for kids grades 3rd through 6th, which this year will be led by Joe and Kerry Vivian. Joe serves as the Family Pastor for Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Albuquerque and Kerry is a science teacher for Eastern Hills Christian Academy. They are regularly featured in our Young Lives Ablaze gathering with kids in the Spring each year. They do object lessons, fun science experiments, and lots of other fun activities to share the gospel with kids. Let me encourage your church to bring a good group of kids to this worthwhile event. When you enter through the main door, you will be directed to where the kids will be meeting.
Gathering for Youth
Our meeting for youth is the Students on Mission Gathering. The meeting will feature Dane Wilkerson as our speaker. Dane is the Student Pastor at Hoffmantown Baptist Church in Albuquerque. But Dane grew up in Portales, attending Emmanuel Baptist Church. He will share God’s Word and encourage our youth to consider God’s call upon their lives for salvation, discipleship, ministry, and missions. Worship will be led by Phillip Wright, Student Pastor at Central. This gathering really promises to be a special time for the youth of our association to gather together to seek the Lord and hear from Him. So bring your youth group and join us! When you enter through the main door, you will be directed to where the youth will meet.
Gathering for Adults
Our main session will be in the worship center of Central Baptist Church. This is our Together on Mission Gathering.
The service will be in both Spanish and English. We will have a brief (10 minute or so) business session to elect board members and approve the next year’s budget, etc., then we will spend time in worship together. We will have an interpreter so Spanish speakers can understand what is happening in the business session.
Roy Martin, Worship Pastor at Parkland in Clovis will lead our singing, along with a band put together for our meeting. They will lead us in singing songs in both Spanish and English. Then Ricardo Rivera, the Leader of the People Groups Team for the Baptist Convention of New Mexico will share God’s Word with us in both Spanish and English.
The service will conclude with an altar call and a closing prayer.
